Play the Piano with Gusto

By Bart Icles

Playing the piano for the very first time can be a tough job for anyone. Like any normal individual, starting anything new or learning something from scratch is difficult at the start. Learning how to play the piano is no different. Remember the first time you rode a bike, or balanced on those first pair of roller skates? You had to practice a lot until you got it right, didn't you? Well, it's almost the same for anyone who has ever sat on a piano stool. With piano lessons, the practicing part is no exception -- and you do have to practice a lot, too. But for certain, you don't have to worry about skinned knees and scraped elbows when learning how to play the piano for the first time.

As you mastered riding your bike, you felt proud and happy about yourself and also felt something wondrous words could not never quite describe. Patience, dedication, and practice was all there was to it, and so it is with being able to play the piano with feeling and passion.

Learning how to play the piano is done in a step by step manner which you may not fully enjoy at the start. There are the technical and methodological aspects you need to establish first with regards to reading and understanding the notes and chords. But once you get past this early part of the lesson, your journey to playing the piano with gusto begins.

Not having a clear understanding of the basic aspects inherent in piano lessons doomed many of those who took it to just give up and walk out on their dreams. Maybe they just simply thought that it was as easy as just sitting down in front of the piano and begin playing right away. Well, if you're a musical genius or a highly-gifted person, it might be possible to do this. But let's be realistic and get our heads out of the clouds. Dreaming is one thing, but to actually doing it by giving it your best effort is another one. If you set your goals straight on at the start and always keep a steady gaze on that, your hard work and patience will be greatly rewarded in the end.

When you have passed through the first basic fundamental lessons of playing the piano, you will realize that this simple yet relevant feat was indeed worth the time and effort. Pretty soon you'll be playing beautiful music on the piano and your spirit will soar through the air with the melodies. And that my friend is something I can not explain to you but for you to find out. - 18780
