However, at a vital point the film takes an acute left turn toward the weird, and on no account returns. Trading Mom: It's about three siblings who couldn't stand their mom. Spacek cast a spell which makes her-and all memory of her vanish. The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter: Heart-rending tirade of a deaf mute's desolate planet, and how he helps a teen gal battling to find herself. Authentic adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel, set in the Large South, aids from moving behaviors-containing Arkin, Locke whose debut film this was, and joke performer McCann, in a revelatory change-of-pace part as Arkin's siI11ple-minded mute buddy.
