Priest: Seductive tirade in reference to a guy of the fabric who finds himself snared between holy promises and his own personal beliefs, specifically his closeted homosexuality. Deft mix of melodrama and tract that manages to handle homosexuality, neglect, incest, and the affairs of state of the Temple with incisive outcomes-and even a shady funny bone. The movie is written by Jimmy McGovern. Cast includes Linus Roache, Tom Wilkinson, Cathy Tyson, Robert Carlyle, and James Ellis. (97 minutes, 1994)
Signs: A small family in Bucks County Pennsylvania has seen some strange goings on. There are crop circles in the fields. Things get much scarier when the see a strange being moving around outside the house. Just what is going on?
Paycheck: Pc whiz Affleck makes large bucks by frequently answering top-secret complications for businesses, then having his memory of the whole operation deleted. However while he jumps on his largest job yet, for a mammoth business run by Eckhart, objects don't go as prepared. As Affleck desires reprisal and retorts after having 3 years' worth of his memory brushed out, the tale line grows more and more bizarre. Cast includes Ben Affleck, Uma Thurman, Aaron Eckhart, Paul Giamatti, Colin Feore, Joe Morton, and Michael Chamber. (119 minutes, 2003)
The King and I: The (1999) C-87 Compacted energized rendition made for kids of classic Rodgers and Hammerstein lyrical now contains romps with animal chums, and black witchcraft by the baron's sinister priest. Artwork and settings are vibrant and lavish, however expression is erratic. 8 melodies out of 20 subsist somehow unscathed. Cast includes the voices of Miranda Richardson, Christiane Noll, Martin Vidnovic, Ian Richardson, Darrell Hammond, Adam Wylie, and Allen D. Hong. (87 minutes, 1999)
