Enlightening Reviews Of Some Films

By Aileen Stewart

Movie reviews follow this paragraph. You can find a lot of information on movie downloads sites if you do a good search. A good starting point might be "Movie Download Web Sites", after that try "Home Movie Rental" or "Top 100 Movie Rentals".

Gun the Man Down: Injured outlaw avows retribution on cohorts who left him in the middle of a stickup gone badly. Cast includes James Arness, Angie Dickinson, Robert Wilkes, and Emile Meyer. (78 minutes, 1956)

The Education of Sonny Carson: A fascinating if overemotional drama of a disobedient black youth in Brooklyn of the '50s and '60s. Based on Carson's autobiography, the film takes on extra meaning with consideration to his notoriety on the N.Y.C scene. Cast includes Ronny Familyton, Don Gordon, Joyce Stroller, and Paul Benjamin. (105 minutes, 1974)

Dracula's Dog: Transylvanian vampire and bloodthirsty mutt, equipped with vampire like mannerisms by the original vampire, go to L.A to find Dracula's last living successor. Cast includes Jose Ferrer, Michael Pataki, Reggie Nalder, Jan Shutan, Libbie Chase, and John Levin. (90 minutes, 1978)

The Front Page: The third filming of the Hecht-MacArthur play about a crazy and woolly Chicago newspaperman in the 1920s has barely anything new to offer (with the exception of 4-letter words) although it continues to be an entertaining piece of work. Cast includes Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Carol Burnett, Susan Sarandon, Vincent Gardenia, David Wayne, Allen Garfield, Austin Pendleton, and Charles Dunning. (105 minutes, 1974)

Sense and Sensibility: A lucid, modern-day look at Jane Austin's novel in reference to 2 recently impoverished siblings one impulsive and flirtatious, the other persistently hindered and made to suppress her sensations of love. Impeccably cast and acted this is a vigorous and moving film dealing with how dissimilar identities handled them in early 19th-century England. Thompson won an Oscar for Best Screenplay Adaptation. Cast includes Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Kate Winslet, Hugh Grant, James Fleet, Harriet Walter, Gemma Jones, Elizabeth Spriggs, Robert Hardy, Greg Prudent, Imelda Staunton, Imogen Stubbs, Hugh Laurie, and Tom Wilkinson. (135 minutes, 1995)

Border Incident: A well put together tale of the U.S. border patrol trying to stem the tide of the smuggling of immigrants across Texas-Mexico boundary. Cast includes Ricardo Montalban, George Murphy, Howard da Silva, and Charles McGraw. (92 minutes, 1949)

R.P.M.: The old styled lenient Quinn becomes the head of the university, and then approves a bust of liberals to spare the establishment. Inept Erich Segal script, comparably poor Kramer direction gives the film a certain camp value. Cast includes Anthony Quinn, Ann-Margret, Gary Lockwood, Paul Winfield, Graham Jarvis, and Alan Hewitt. (97 minutes, 1970)

The Hills Run Red: A Civil War Western of stolen payrolls. The movie is badly dubbed and loosely performed. Cast includes Thomas Hunter, Henry Silva, Dan Duryea, and Nando Gazzola. (89 minutes, 1966)

The Eagle and the Hawk: A well generated anti war film with hesitant idol March, intimidating gunner Grant, everyone's buddy Oakie, and understanding city gal Lombard. Awakening this John Mouk Saunders tale is still well timed. Cast includes Fredric March, Cary Grant, Jack Oakie, Carole Lombard, and Douglas Scott. (68 minutes, 1933)

This short list is an example of the variety of films you can find online that you can download. Searching "Best Movie Download" or "New Movie Download" will help you find downloading information for movies. Add "Popular Movie Rentals" to the list if the other searches don't work for you. - 18780
