Red Sun: East meets West in this extraordinary account of a samurai fighter chasing a priceless Japanese sword stolen from a train crossing the American West. Cast includes Charles Bronson, Ursula Andress, Toshiro Mifune, Alain Delon, and Capucine. (112 minutes, 1972)

MGM's The Big Parade of Comedy: Fifty of the best megastars of all time emerge in this collection, however too concisely. Cast includes Laurel and Hardy, Keaton, Gable, Robert BencWey, Jean Harlow, and Malion Davies, (90 minutes, 1964)

Happy Gilmore: Hockey player Happy Gilmore finds his slap shot power translates into 400 yard plus drives in golf. Needing money to help his grandma save her house, he is going to attempt pro golf. His putting is as poor as his driving is good, so he has a lot to learn. Overcoming all odds, Happy wins the tour championship and now can save grandma's house.

For Love of Ivy: A family unit wants to retain their servant, so they find her a man to keep her happy. The motion picture is a ho-hum black romance at best. Cast includes Sidney Poitier, Abbey Lincoln, Guy Bridges, Leon Bibb, Nan, Martin, Lauri Peters, and Carroll O'Connor. (102 minutes, 1968)

The General Died at Dawn: Fine play of Oriental intrigue, with mercenary Cooper falling in love with foreign agent Carroll when combating threatening warlord Tamiroff. Cast Gary Cooper, Madeleine Carroll, Akim Tamiroff, Dudley Digges, Porter Chamber, and William Frawley. (97 minutes, 1936)

Richard's Things: Widow Ullmann is seduced by her now deceased husband's lady friend. Screenplay by Frederic Raphael based on his novel. Cast includes Liv Ullmann, Amanda Redman, Tim Smith, Elizabeth Spriggs, and David Markha. (104 minutes, 1980)

Sing, You Sinners: Gambling Crosby couldn't face responsibility, in spite of of jabbing his brother MacMurray. Three siblings with diverse interests have a singing act. Can the other two siblings save the day when the gambling sibling bets on a "sure thing"? Includes Wesley Ruggles, Bing Crosby, Fred MacMurray, Donald O'Connor, Elizabeth Patterson, Ellen Drew, and John Gallaudet. (88 minutes, 1938)

Live Flesh: Smitten child of a prostitute is jailed for inadvertently shooting and paralyzing a cop. Original narrative of teenager's mistake that takes him to prison. Spanish language. Cinematically stimulating, albeit, with a bravura finale. Cast includes Pedro Almodovar, Liberto Rabal, Francesca Neri, Javier Bardem, Angela Molina, Jose Sancho, and Penelope Cruz. (100 minutes, 1997)

Down to Earth: Homer Croy's continuation to "They had to See Paris" has newly riche Midwesterner Rogers setting an end to his family's mindless investing by affirming that he's broke. Not one of Will Roger's best film attempts. Cast includes Can Rogers, Irene Opulent, Dorothy Jordan, and Mary Carlisle. (73 minutes, 1932)
