A Small Collection Of Quick Motion Picture Summaries To View

By Frank Webster

For years now, the video store was the way to get movies. You can now save a trip to the video store and download movies right off the internet. You will find just about any movie you want with a good movie download site. Below is a small sample.

Fantastic Invasion of The Planet Earth: Discharged theatrically in 3-D, this movie was pretty much a disaster. A young couple finds themselves caught in a deserted town encircled in a mammoth bubble. The original title, The Bubble, was far less deceiving: there are no foreigners and no "invasion" in fact, and not much enthusiasm, either. Cast includes Filmed in widescreen Space-Vision. Cast includes Michael Cole, Deborah Walley, and Johnny Desmond. (91 minutes, 1996)

Abandoned: There is a baby selling operation that is thriving. A journalist (O'Keefe) sets out to help Gale Storm learn what has happened to her missing sister. Shot on location in Los Angeles. Stars include Dennis O'Keefe, Gale Storm, Jeff Chandler, and Raymond Burr. Joe Newman is the director. (1949 Drama)

I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry: Larry and Chuck are top notch fire fighters and best friends. When Larry fails to change the beneficiaries on his life insurance policy after the unfortunate death of his wife, the only way he can make sure his children benefit if he dies is to remarry. There is no woman he can trust with his kids, so he comes up with the idea of marrying his best friend Chuck.

The Dying Gaul: The mourning author of an auto biographical screenplay becomes erotically intertwined with a smooth producer, who offers him 1,000,000 dollars to produce the venture as long as he makes the gay protagonists straight. In the mean time, he becomes spiritually intertwined with the producers spouse, a prior screenwriter turned housewife. Twists, catastrophes, and fine acting mark this brilliant although thick personality research. Cast includes Patricia Clarkson, Campbell Scott, Peter Sarsgaard, Ryan Miller, Robin Bartlett, Linda Emond, and Jason-Shane Scott. (101 minutes, 2005)

They Won't Believe Me: This is about a philanderer who becomes engaged with 3 females, leading to calamity and a tremendous twist ending. Young succeeds in his unsympathetic role; Johnson does marvels with her scenes as his spouse. Cast includes Susan Hayward, Robert Young, Jane Greer, Rita Johnson, Tom Powers, Don Beddoe, and Blunt Ferguson. (95 minutes, 1947)

So Big: Disheartening adaptation of Edna Ferber's legend of an orphaned gal who turns into a schoolteacher in the middle of a farming town and raises her child to strive for a better life. Cast includes Barbara Stanwyck, George Brent, Dickie Moore, Guy Kibbee, Bette Davis, and Mac Madison. (80 minutes, 1932)

Spungen: Director Cox accomplishes a masterful level of a documentary-reality. He then laces it with metaphorical fantasy icons, with striking outcomes. At the center of the film are two incredible performances by Goldman and Webb, who don't appear to be acting at all: They are Sid and Nancy. The movie is a downer, to be certain, however captivating. (105 minutes, 1969)

Cuba Crossing: Our lead man Stuart Whitman becomes embroiled in a plot to take out Fidel Castro. Filmed in Key West, Florida, and a minimum of the landscape is pretty. Cast includes Stuart Whitman, Robert Vaughn, Caren Kaye, Raymond St. Jacques, Woody Strode, Sybil Danning, Albert Salmi, and Michael Gazzo. (90 minutes, 1980)

Sgt. Bilko: Master Sergeant Ernie Bilko has a moneymaking plan for every occasion at Fort Baxter, Kansas. Martin continues to be a first rate comic and has the support of a highly adept comedy cast. Cast includes Steve Martin, Dan Aykroyd, Phil Hartman, Glen Heady, Daryl Mitchell, Max Casella, Chris Stone, Richard Herd, and Travis Tritt .(94 minutes, 1996)
