Guitar Instructions: Learn to play acoustic guitar online

By Tommy Beltrani

Many beginner guitar players end up wasting a lot of time and energy messing around on their instrument and never really learning anything. This is a common trap beginners fall into and can be easily prevented if they would get good quality guitar instructions. Nowadays there are two very useful ways to learn to play acoustic guitar, you could decide to go to a guitar teacher, which I recommend when possible, or use an online video tutorials.

Both can be very valuable ways to learn and there's no right or wrong but only what is best for you.

The World Wide Web has changed the way we do things and interact forever and there's no surprise that even those who want to learn to play acoustic guitar have been drown to this amazing media.

I will always advice taking private classes with a guitar teacher because he can guide you and inspire you step by step in your learning process, while a computer cannot do that. Those that are learning online with video tutorials must be ready to do a bit more DIY because there's so much available today that it can be difficult to find the tutorials that are good for you. The trap here is that all these free video tutorials are there to give you a glimpse of what the paid training is all about. Although they are good to find out about a course they share only some of the information and you will eventually have to make up your mind and commit to a course if you want to learn properly. Fortunately for you there's a lot of good guitar tutorials online and it will not take you too long to find something that is going to work for you.

A big plus about learning online is that you can watch the videos as many times as you have to. You can easily practice along with your teacher and rewind till you play the exercises right. Let's me tell you this is a major benefit! You now have your tutor available any time you need him and you'll never forget what you learned in class. Obviously you can't do that with a "real" teacher, the moment you leave the class you are on your own till next week.

If you are using online video tutorials you can learn at your own pace and watch your classes whenever you like. Often your family or your carrier are taking away most of your time and becomes difficult to drive to a teacher at a convenient time. In these cases online allows you to follow your passion and learn to play acoustic guitar.

Something else to consider is the quality of the tutors you have access to on the web. Not all teacher are made equal, some can only play a bit and some others are a source of informations and experience. Online you can find the best of the best, but again you must use you discretion and make sure they are not selling you smoke.

In conclusion my advice is to always try to fit in lessons with a good teacher in your city, but if that is difficult for what ever reasons, online is your best alternative. - 18780
