Loops, Samplers and DJ Effects - Basic Sound Synthesis

By David Nebel

If you boost the synthesizer to the place where it clips and removes part of the audio range, then you've pushed the signal of the synthesiser over the limit. In essence, what you've done is created distortion.

A well known effect when utilising on electric guitars. In addition to this, you could produce additional harmonics by distorting signals in the frequency range. You might also hear distortion being referred to as over drive. These results are really not used very much because it produces a disgusting clipping of the signal, but the creative individual can produce a couple of entertaining outcomes.

Phasers could be practiced in a few stages like two, 4,eight,16 or higher. Signal would be very much more effective when the stages increased. Phasing means the signal passes through an all pass filter. When this occur you get highs and lows or peaks and notches inside the frequency spectrum. If it's a moving effect you want, then the LFO has to sweep the comb filter. This puts away the basic phaser sound.

If you turn up the flanging signal too high, it resonates to an impossible level. You can modify flanging by just changing the sweeping delay rate together with the feedback and signal depth. This's simply like the chorus and phaser effects. The flanger is the same as the artificial chorus and phaser techniques. In the beginning, you can create a sweeping effect of the signals as they became out of synchronize with one another. This could only be done by a tiny amount, and its created by decreasing 2 same reel tapes. This's similar in artificial flanging. It consists of multiplying the single and always changing the delay between the signals at the rate of being within milli secs. Once this occurs, it'll sound the same as a jet plane. As the harmonic bumps and dips of the signal're in series with each other, it creates a comb filter effects.

With delay effects, you could apply a couple of very special methods like creating feed back loops, which will constantly run. You can attain this by reversing the delay play back. Delay is likewise addressed as echo and is a very standard effects component in sound synthesis. All its imitating the synthesizers original sound and then playing it various times between the different time spans.

Producing sound in an enomous room will make the sound reverberate

This is identical with reverb when it comes to sound synthesis. It is one of the earliest effects to be applied and was once produced by plates and springs manually. Presently it's created by digital means. Close simulations of room sizes and applying delays is the method practiced today. This creates the illusion of sound hitting the hearing of the hearer, then right after the reverberation effect is heard. - 18780

Kenny Chesney - What makes Him Unique

By Matt Ryan

Kenny Chesney is one of those names that everyone has heard of, and the majority of people have heard one or two of his songs. In 2008, he received the Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year award, which is yet another achievement for his greatness. His laid-back appeal, along with his amazing music, makes his shows realistic and worth take a few hours to see!

Since the beginning of his career, in 1993, he has produced 13 albums. Eleven of these albums were certified Gold and Platinum! Over 30 of the songs, on these albums, have reached the Top 10 hit list. The amazing part of all of this is he still appears to be a laid-back kind of guy - he's got talent and personality.

Mr. Chesney was born in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1968. When he was 5-years old, his parents had given him his first guitar. You might think this is where his career started, but he quickly put the guitar down as it "hurt his fingers". Later in life he played, as a receiver, on the Gibbs High School football team.

After high school, Kenny Chesney went to East Tennessee State University. He was involved in a Bluegrass Program during his term here. At this point in his life, Kenny Chesney had started saving for a new guitar. Once he had bought one, and graduated, he followed his dream to Nashville.

Nashville is where he - very quickly - began to make a name for himself. In 1992 he was signed by BMI and Opryland Music Group. His first two songs were "In my Wildest Dreams" and "All I Need to Know". These were his first two big hits and were what lead to the rest of his life. Every song that Kenny Chesney sings is about events that he has personally experienced, along with the emotion involved; this is why every song is realistic to fans and why fans can relate directly to this artist.

On a side note, many stars are turning to new ventures like creating their own clothing line or perfume. Kenny Chesney, on the other hand, is looking to create his own Rum. He has even gone so far as to ask his fans what they would like to taste in their rum.

Speaking of fans, Kenny Chesney's Boston show sold out in under 10 minutes. With the economy the way it is, and consumers not purchasing entertainment as they used to, this is nearly unheard of. Fans are determined to see Kenny Chesney regardless of the tough financial times they face; his personality and touching music have captivated their hearts.

Kenny Chesney has won an exuberant number of awards, some of which include 1997 ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year and 2008 Entertainer of the Year. Many others, such as single of the year, best video, and best male country artist line his bookshelves!

What brought Nickelback to the top?

By Matt Ryan

Nickelback is a rock band made up of 5 compelling musicians. Their personalities, talent and skill, along with the stories in each song, are what keep their fans around, and continually attract new audiences. Nickelback attracts audiences of all ages, if you appreciate music and art; you will definitely enjoy the performance this band offers.

This Canadian rock band began their career back in the 90's, and was inspired by the once popular band - "Creed". These musicians were determined to make it to the top regardless of the tough road they had in front of them. They definitely dealt with their share of difficulties and struggles, but made a quick rise regardless. Today they are amongst some of the top rock and roll bands around.

The lead singer of Nickelback - Chad Kroeger - is where it all started. He perfected his talent by singing with many local bands in Hanna. He realized; however, that he would need to go bigger than his hometown if he were to make a name for himself. This is when he headed off to Vancouver, where his brother Mike met - shortly after - him.

Two other band members in 1996 - Ryan Vikedal and Ryan Peak, joined Chad and Mike. This is the year the group could begin calling themselves a band, and they decided to go by the name of Nickelback. (The name came from a phrase Mike used to say when he worked at Starbucks.)

The talent that these musicians brought to the table was breath taking, but their energy and passion was much more captivating. Their passion and energy enabled them to do their own advertising. They approached club owners, radio stations, and crated their own posters for their gigs - they even created their own YouTube website. This drive got them to the point that - also in 1996 - they were able to begin touring and sharing their music.

Canadian stations, in the beginning of 2000, were looking for local bands to highlight. This was the perfect opportunity for Nickelback to share their latest creation - "The State", which was their first song to hit the charts. Nickelback had over 200 bookings, which finally got them noticed by recording artists. EMI - a Canadian recording firm - and Roadrunner Records - a U.S. recording firm - were the first to sign contracts with this young band.

In 2005, Ryan Vikedal left and Daniel Adair took his place. This did not slow the band down one bit. Daniel had the same passion and drive that the other members had, and they kept moving forward. In 2005 the released an album called "All the Right Reasons". This album stayed on the top 30 charts for two years, which is nearly unheard of. Additionally, the album sold over 7-million copies in the U.S. alone!

There are no proper words to describe their music other than alluring; their shows are no different. At every performance, Nickelback encourages their fans to participate in the show. As an audience member, you cannot help but be full of energy and passion and adore the band. You still have plenty of time to get tickets for one of their 2009 show. Take the whole family - everyone - of all ages - will enjoy the music and the performance. - 18780
