There are four elements of hip hop that most artists use to describe the music. They are drum patterns, a bass line, supporting orchestration and dubs and snips. You may not understand what all of this means, but in time, you'll find it is simple.

The dubbing is what makes the groove stick. It's giving props to others who have gone before you in this field and industry. The History Of Blink 182 Music

By Greg Shuey

Blink 182 music is historic! Blink was one of the biggest pop punk bands back in the day. The band, made up of Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker is most known for their music that was made up of juvenile and toilet humor. This type of music helped catapult the band into the mainstream in the early 2000's.

Blink 182 originally formed in 1992 when Tom DeLonge met Mark Hoppus through a mutual acquaintance and they started writing and composing music together in Tom's garage. Their original drummer, Scott Raynor was also a high school friend of theirs. He eventually left the band and was replaced by the more hard - radical Travis Barker.

In the early 90's, Blink 182 released two albums, Buddha and Cheshire Cat. They were both independent records. In 1997, the band released Dude Ranch and shortly thereafter became a mainstream pop punk band. Dude Ranch was the stepping stone from playing music as a hobby or for fun to playing music as a career. They were ready for the big game!

Blink 182's biggest break was when they released Enema of the State in 1999. Hit songs that emerged from that CD were "All The Small Things", "What's My Age Again?", and "Adam's Song". These songs were played on radio stations across the nation and became theme songs for young teens and adults who followed the band from the early days.

In less than two years time, Enema of the State turned gold and platinum five times over. The music created by Blink 182 portrayed common emotions that are often experienced by the younger generation and was highly relatable to their target audience. Less than a year later, the bank released a live album that was called The Mark, Tom, and Travis Show. It sold almost as many copies as Enema of The State

The next year, Blink released one of the most remembered pieces of music that they created, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. From this album came well known songs like "The Rock Show", "First Date", and "Stay Together For The Kids". This album went double platinum.

Unknown to Blink 182 at the time, when releasing their untitled album, Blink 182 it would be their last piece of music made together as a band for almost seven years. Unfortunately for them, this was one of their least popular albums released, although I did turn platinum eventually.

So here we are, 2009 and Blink 182 has announced their reunion. Blink 182 is back together again, making music and putting together a world tour. It will sure be interesting to see what kind of music they create when their new album is released later this year. All I can say is... Long Live Blink 182 Music!! - 18780

Acoustic Guitar DVD Lessons: Best Way to Learn Guitar

By Joe Lewis

Classical Gas by Mason Williams might be a little challenging if you don't think of yourself as a "real" guitar player but it is surprisingly easy to play. Of course if you are not likely to be playing for strangers, you will have some idea of the kind of music your friends like, so just let their tastes be you guide with a little of your own style thrown in.

Now to get onto more technical stuff, let us look at what a flatpick is and how to use it. A flatpick is made of tortoiseshell, plastic or nylon. If you want to learn to be a flatpicking guitar soloist, you will need to learn to use a thick pick. If you are like most guitar players you will be using a light to medium weight pick.

You owe it to yourself to be the best player you can be, so make that choice right now and say to yourself, "I commit to practicing my instrument in a consistent manner that leads to me learning how to play the guitar in a snap." A little tip for you here: If a string breaks on your guitar, I would recommend you change the whole set, other wise you will end up with spare strings lying around everywhere, and for some reason, I always find there is a difference in quality of sound when I only change one string. Maybe I'm just a perfectionist, who knows? As far as practice is concerned, there are a couple of ways to approach it.

It is never a neutral experience and that can lead to us "forgetting" to record our guitar playing. You will be really doing yourself a favor by disciplining yourself to record yourself once a day. Using backing tracks is one of the great benefits of modern technology.

If that describes you, if you are just learning the guitar or only recently desired to learn to play guitar, these sites are perfect for you.

You've got the blues, you've got a guitar--now you need to learn the scales. Those distinctive, southern, pre-Elvis post gospel scales. When it comes down to it, there are only 3 chords you really need to master. Every blues song consists of three chords. They're the one the four and the five.

Lots of people can play guitar but what music do you play on your guitar when somebody says, "go on, play something"? Do you play a song, an instrumental, a simple classical piece? Songs are probably best as a general rule because even if you can't sing, somebody in the crowd will be able to help you out. Just in case you get the party started with your guitar, a repertoire of around twenty songs probably should get you into, and out of trouble.

When you are choosing your repertoire, you can spread your net wide. No need to stick to the Top Forty, go for the Top One Hundred of whatever decade you feel comfortable with. An easy way out that does not need too much research is to just jot down a bunch of Beatles titles. - 18780

Who Are The Greatest Actors

By Brenda Wright

We all have our favorite actors and our favorite movies. It is merely an opinion and nobody is more right or more wrong we just all know what we like. But there are actors that we watch who are extremely talented and there are others that are pretty boys and then there are the few that fit into both categories. There are also actors who along with being great entertainers they are also great men who use their fame and notoriety to help the the human race.

It's pretty remarkable to think that Tom Hanks started out on a small and kooky TV show called "Bosom Buddies". Who would have thought that he would boast the talent to pull off such great roles as Andrew Beckett, a gay lawyer who is infected with AIDS, who is fired from his conservative law firm because of the fear that they may also contract the disease. He won his first Academy Award for that role in 1993 and it was well deserved.

His second Academy Award came just the next year making him only the second actor in history to win back-to-back Oscars with Spencer Tracy being the first back in 1937 and 1938. In 1994 Tom Hanks again took home the Oscar for his moving portrayal of Forrest Gump. He also has a list of other good movies but it is too time-consuming to cover here.

Brad Pitt has been adored for his good looks ever since he charmed us in the 1991 film "Thelma and Louise". However he hasn't always played the pretty boy roles. Remember "Seven" and "Twelve Monkeys" both from 1995? Sometimes his personal life seems to eclipse his acting roles but the most impressive thing about Brad Pitt is that he has been extremely active in humanitarian causes throughout the world and he has donated hefty sums of his cash to these causes.

After Hurricane Katrina basically wiped out New Orleans, Brad Pitt started the "Make It Right Foundation" to assist in the redevelopment of the Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans. The foundation builds homes that are affordable, sustainable and true to the diverse culture of New Orleans. The goal was to achieve the building of the homes quickly so that the residents could return home as soon as possible. That has been his true accomplishment.

There is another great actor who is greatly admired for his philanthropy. Paul Newman passed away this past September 26, 2008 but he will long be remembered for great movies like "Road to Perdition" from 2002, "The Color of Money" from 1986 and "Absence of Malice" from 1981. He also played Butch in the well known and ever beloved "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" from the year 1969. And then of course, the list of great Paul Newman movies goes on and on.

But like Brad Pitt, Paul Newman was also known for his philanthropy. In 1982 with a colleague he created a line of food products called "Newman's Own". It started with salad dressing and ever since then it has expanded to include pasta sauce, lemonade, popcorn, salsa, cookies and other items. Newman established a policy that all of the proceeds from Newman's Own, after taxes, would be donated to charity. As of early 2006, the corporation had donated in excess of $250 million.

We will forever have our favorite movies and our favorite actors and actresses. We may like them because of their talent or for other reasons but now that we can download full-length, high quality movies immediately on the Internet at least we won't have to miss any of their movies. - 18780
